WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP)
The goals of the Farmer Market Program are:
To provide WIC participants with checks to purchase locally grown fresh fruits, fresh vegetables and fresh-cut herbs at farmers’ markets.
To help Wisconsin farmers by increasing the awareness and utilization of farmers’
markets.
Eligible WIC families receive one set of checks, known as Farmer Market checks, each season to purchase locally grown produce.
The checks are worth $17 and can be used between June 1
st
and October 31st. The Farmer Market checks can only be used at authorized farmer markets, not at grocery stores. (Note: These checks are in addition to the checks you receive to purchase fruits and vegetables at the grocery store.)
Visit our WIC Farm Stand on Wednesdays during the months of July, August, and September!
