About Head Start

Head Start is a national program that promotes school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children through the provision of educational, health, nutritional, social and other services to enrolled children and families.

A Head Start program engages parents in their children's learning and help them in making progress toward their educational, literacy and employment goals.  Significant emphasis is placed on the involvement of parents in the administration of the local Head Start program.

Mission Statement

The R/K CAA Head Start Program is in the business of shaping and preparing today’s children to succeed in tomorrow’s world.  All participating children will enter school ready to learn and continue to be successful learners.

R/K CAA Head Start accomplishes this mission one child, one family at a time.  Services provided are of the highest quality and will constantly be modified to meet the needs of the families we serve.  The R/K CAA Head Start Program is part of a comprehensive system of integrated community services for young children in Racine County.  We value families and children in all we do.

Vision Statement

R/K CAA Head Start shares with the family and the community the responsibility for preparing preschool children to meet the needs and challenges of life.

This preparation includes understanding the rights of others and appreciating fully the privileges and responsibilities of a society as well as developing wholesome attitudes, multi-cultural appreciations, academic skills and the social, physical, mental and emotional aspects of living.

Education is a continuous lifelong process. Therefore, the R/K CAA Head Start Program shall promote the growth of each individual child in accordance with his or her physical, intellectual, emotional, and social needs.
