- Homeless Prevention addresses the needs of those who are at imminent risk of becoming homeless, and need temporary rent, escrow, and utility assistance to prevent them from becoming homeless or need of assistance to move to another unit because they have been evicted or are victims of domestic violence. Assistance is limited to household Incomes at 50% of Area Median Income (AMI). (Currently accepting applications.)
- Rapid Re-housing addresses the needs of those who are experiencing homelessness and need temporary assistance to obtain housing and retain it. Assistance is limited to household Incomes at 50% of AMI. (Currently not accepting new applicants for this grant)
Application Process
Applicants will be asked to complete a RKCAA Central Office Intake & Referral form and meet with an Intake Specialist. Verification of the housing crisis should be brought along when completing the form. The Intake Specialist will set an intake appointment with the Housing Assistance Department staff to complete the process. The following are required documents to bring to the intake appointment:
1. Applicant’s photo i.d

2. All Household members identification and social security numbers
3. All Household members’ income (earned unemployment, social security, child support, etc.)
4. Verification of all Household members’ non-cash income (Food Stamps, Medical Cards, WIC, etc.)
5. Copy of rental agreement/lease
6. Verification or proof of homelessness
7. Copy of eviction or foreclosure notice (for renter’s only)
8. Landlord contact information
9. Copy of utility bills
10. Proof of the eligible financial crisis (The reason the applicant is unable to pay the rent/utility)
